Job Description

Job Purpose:To assist the ABSTC Top Management in guiding & implementing EHS policy, related to safety, Legal Compliance, Project SafetyTo plan, support & monitor safety & occupational health for all ABSTC research & development projects towards sustainable growth & continual improvement.Job Context:The ABSTC is the state of art Research & Development facility of Aditya Birla Group that gives support services to diversified businesses of the group. In view of the emerging challenges for issues related to safety, health & environment, SHE department plays an important role in guiding implementation of SHE measures in all R & D as well as Projects at ABSTC Taloja facility. Major Challenge is to ensure effective control with a view to continuously enhance SHE standards at R & D facility with active co-operation from business, unit & Corporate SHE. 2. The job demands skills to effectively coordinate with ABSTC & businesses. 3. Planning & Implementation of safety best practices in Ongoing Projects & upcoming projects at ABSTC.Key Result Areas:1. Assist in implementation of SHE policy for desired Safety & Health standards for ABSTC in consultation with the departmental heads and ensure its uniform understanding & implementation at ABSTCa) Reduced non-compliance of EHS activitiesb) Industry analysis on issues related to Safety & Occupational health. c) Identify critical areas / issues d) Assist to implement policy guidelines based on vision and objectives of ABSTC.e) Upgradation of Safety Standards2. Assist in formulation & implementation required guidelines through departmental heads for improving performance in the area of safety & occupational healtha) Deploy the policy through functional heads of ABSTC. b) Monitor Unsafe Acts & Unsafe Conditions with deadlines to close the same c) Monitor Project Safety with Project team of ABSTC for hassle free work with prior planning & contractor inductions on various work d) Monitor leading & lagging Indicators e) Appreciate & Encourage people for Safe Work3. Assist in identifying training needs, develop programs & impart training with the support from department heads to upgrade knowledge & skills of employees at various levels.a) Identify training needs & target group b) Organize various training c) Training Feedback & Refresher training Planning d) Well defined training calendar with budget approvals e) Celebrate various days & week as according to the NSC calendar4.Develop, maintain & upgrade Safety Health & Environment related technical database on need basis for the benefit of business and units, Improve Safety Culture of ABSTCa) Coordinate with ABSTC for best practice SOP & HAZOP. Help to business for SOP & HAZOP implementation b) Compile data bank for current & future reference c) Update departments with statutory acts, rules and reference books. d) Study Incidents & Prepare Corrective Preventive Action Plan e) Prepare Safety Alerts to avoid repeating mistakes in future.Monitor various Legal Aspects & Annual form filling)a) Environment Statement Submission yearly b) Hazardous waste Manifesto yearly c) Support in Consent Renewal d) Fire Extinguishers, Hydrants, Alarms Monitoring with form B submission six monthly e) Monitor Quarterly ambient air noise etc. reports g) Form 11 & Form 13 yearlyETP/STP monitoringIncrease performance of ETP & STP to achieve zero non-compliance, compete documentation of ETP & STP. Develop system for weekly elemental analysis of ETP & STP.Documentation & reporting: Daily review of ETP logbooks, monthly report on ETP,
