Your Contribution as a Commissioning Editor: You will develop and execute on portfolio management strategy for growth and profitability. Ensure products and services meet current and future market needs through customer insight and market collaboration which results in improved portfolio and product performance metrics. Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of market trends, the published literature, and related and competing materials including online and e- products in the fields we serve. Research new subject areas and markets, and develop and present strategic plans, to drive the growth of current subject areas and of the business improvement line overall. Acquire titles, including the following responsibilities: develop networks; actively scout for practitioners, academics, and thought leaders. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders on marketing and sales strategies and plans to maximize the potential of products in the marketplace. Build strategic relationships externally to maintain and enhance acquisitions, sales, and our position in the marketplace. Monitor sales trends and backlist titles, and work to develop new editions, new titles, and ancillary products for optimal maintenance and growth of line. What you ll need to be successful: Bachelor s degree educational qualification; postgraduate qualifications desirable. 3- 8 years overall experience in learning science, publishing or education, or in product management and development in other industries Minimum 2- 5 years experience within the Test Prep/ Higher education sector is mandatory. Experience on ideating, commissioning authors and seeing a manuscript through publication. Should have a keen interest in books and have awareness of publishing trends with an ambition to shape their own list of books. Strong market research and analytical skills.
