Job Description

Department:Spatial Modeling GroupObjective of the Role:The candidate will be involved in all the production activities from remotely sensed data and support the integration of resultant products into a GIS environment for exposure models for modeled countries. Maintain and deliver the geospatial data and data components on time with highest quality. Particular skills in programming, numerical/statistical analysis, computing, databases etc. would add value.Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:

  • Responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis of geospatial layers i.e. satellite/ aerial images, Land use Land Cover, industrial regions
  • Involved in applying programming, geospatial and other supportive domain knowledge in deriving additional data sources for exposure model development
  • Communicate analytical insights through sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results (Including PPT slides and charts)
  • Serve as an active participant on cross-functional projects, interpreting data, and translating into actionable insights, provide support on ad-hoc analysis and reports.
Experience Required:
  • Graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering
  • Critical thinking skills and hands on experience in data interpretation, formulating hypotheses and being able to make educated guesses when data may be sparse or unavailable
  • Documentation skills with experience of working on MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge in one or more programming languages like Python, C, C++, VB.net
  • Knowledge in image processing or geospatial techniques will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with Google Earth and Open Street Map would be a plus
  • Quick leaner for new technologies, programming techniques, languages, and operating systems is a must
