Data Scientist Manager

Job Description

This candidate will work closely with junior/senior statisticians to deliver Fraud Waste Abuse (FWA), data mining and COB statistical projects. Our teams develop various data science models through advanced statistical techniques and provide support to management in business development, POCs/POVs and in building strong relationships with global analytics teams.This candidate should be expert in data science and analytics with significant amount of project delivery skills in one or more like, Model Building, Model Validation, Fraud detection Analytics, Risk Analytics, Multivariate Analysis.Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate across business units with stakeholders, provide thought leadership, and drive day-to-day implementation of our analytics strategy
• Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise by analyzing and investigating
• Be an expert focused on helping team improve modeling predictability, analytics driven strategy development, and operational efficiency
• Evaluate statistical methods used to obtain the data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency and accuracy
• Interpret end-user technical requirements by specifying economic decision models, determining appropriate data sources, and performing detailed statistical analysis
• Create, analyze and maintain explanatory/predictive models of clinical behaviors using healthcare claims data
• Work includes all phases of the modelling process: research design, data extraction and cleaning, model building and validation
• Research on the new fraud and abuse patterns, opportunities and ideate new assignments/projects basis the secondary/data driven research
• Lead the advanced statistics domain for the team and develop/refine/improve predictive models using advance SAS, R and machine learning techniques and mentors junior/senior analysts/statisticians to develop their modeling/statistical skills
• Coordinate with clinical/Coding SMEs for seeking the inputs to explore data extraction approach and road map the analysis mile stones
• Develop and maintain working relationships with key customer stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Master s degree in math or statistics from top universities (Tier I/II) with strong record of achievement and approximately 4+ years of relevant work experience in predictive analytics, machine learning/NLP projects
• Experience in data analytics, predictive and statistical modeling, project management and business development, Interpersonal coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills
• Experience using Git/GitHub for tracking source code changes during model development
• Experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured data
• Demonstrated experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, H2O) and traditional relational database technologies (any of Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of statistical tools and techniques, especially those relating to machine learning, NLP, data mining and analysis
• Strong project management skills, ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment while managing multiple/concurrent projects
• Excellent knowledge of SAS, R, or any other statistical software to carry out analysis and drive conclusions
• Ability to handle/work on large data sets
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to all levels of Management, business partners, and to other external clients and Ability to work independently and with a team

Preferred Qualification:

• Certifications: Technical (SAS, R), Project management (PMP), Healthcare domain (AHM)
• Experience/interest in data visualization using Tableau, MS Power BI, Excel
• Experience/interest in building machine learning systems using big data
• Experience/interest in data visualization and presentation
• Knowledge of US Healthcare system, especially Fraud/risk management
