What you will learn and contribute to: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator and Deployment Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in deploying and optimizing our database systems to support our growing data requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, manage DB administrative activities, security, and performance. You will also be responsible for managing deployments in Java and related technologies. Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL ) to ensure high availability and performance. Design, implement, and manage database backup and recovery processes to safeguard data. Monitor database performance and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues. Manage security and access controls to protect the confidentiality and integrity of data. Conduct routine database maintenance tasks, such as patching and software updates. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly. Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to accommodate data growth. Collaborate with development teams to facilitate the deployment of Java and Angular applications on Wildfly/JBOSS application servers. Ensure smooth and automated application deployment, including testing and rollback procedures. Monitor application deployment processes, diagnose deployment-related issues, and provide solutions. Develop and document deployment processes and best practices. Provide technical support to support and infrastructure teams during deployment and troubleshooting activities. Assist in debugging and resolving application issues related to database connectivity and performance. Prepare reports on database performance, deployment status, and incident resolutions. Stay updated with the latest advancements in database technologies and industry best practices. Continually seek opportunities to implement innovative solutions and improve existing database processes. Your skills and experience: Proven experience as a Database Designer or similar role with a minimum of 8- 10 years of hands-on experience in database design and development. In-depth knowledge of database management systems, including but not limited to PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and framework like Hadoop Proficiency in data modeling, normalization, and database optimization techniques. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data migration strategies. Knowledge of telecom ITSM process is a plus. Familiarity with data security and access control measures to ensure data protection and compliance. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset. Experience with cloud-based databases and distributed systems is a plus. Certifications in relevant database technologies are a bonus. It would be nice if you also had: Good knowledge of virtualization and container concepts: Docker; Kubernetes. Good knowledge of IT concepts associated with the deployment of modern networks: BigData and distributed processing (Hadoop, Kafka, Spark); Cloud native software concepts (micro-services architecture).
