This shall ensure that the services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels and serving the customer independently directly or through customer interface.Key Responsibility AreasJOB ROLES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe position is assigned to work with troubleshooting/configuration of Core network (2G,3G & 4G/LTE). He is to act on network and relevant equipment problems escalated from the surveillance function. It is the responsibility of the Engineer to solve and correct service and network problems according to agreed timing and standard set, to detect and highlight network deficiencies and to some extent predict future degradations.

  • Customer Issue handling

  • Analyze, prepare, implement and verify the configuration and integration of a Node / network / system

Technical/Functional Competence:
  • Experience in O&M of 2G, 3G & 4G/LTE Core nodes (MSS/MGW/HSS/HLR/SBC/STP/LIG/MNP/EIR).
  • O & M experience within ZTE GSM core network.
  • Hands on experience of ZTE CS Core Elements (NFV Platform, Legacy ETCA Platform, ZXCloud E9000, ZXUN MSC, ZXUN MGW, ZXUN LIG, ZXUN USPP, ZXUN DSC, ZXUN SBC, vMSC, vMGW, vLIG, vEMS, vUSPP(HLR/HSS), vDSC, vLIG, vCTS, vSBC, vEMS, ETCA MGW, ZXWN MSC, UGMSC, ZXWN MGW, EIR).
  • In-depth troubleshooting skills on ZTE CS Core node hardware platform, fault management and configurations.
  • Excellent knowledge of the network topology, its traffic handling capabilities and traffic characteristics.
  • Good understanding of LI Server, CG Server, Disk array, billing FTP CDRs related configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Very good trouble shooting skills in NFV Platform/Legacy ETCA Platform/vCS/MSC/STP/UGMSC/MGW/EMS.
  • Should have sound hands-on experience of ZTE tools like EMS, LMT, Netnumen / Netnumen client.
  • Experience with Interfaces and Protocols such as SCCP, M3ua, INAP, CAMEL, ISUP, SIP-I,SCTP,BSSMAP,H.248,TCAP, ,BICC,IPBCP,SNMP,MAP,RANAP, MTP,S6a.
  • Excellent knowledge and Experience on AoIP, Iu over IP, SIGTRAN, BICC and SIP, Iu-flex, A-flex concept.
  • Execute Product Configuration B number, A number, POI, SIP configuration, USSD, Roaming Restriction, GT, BSC/RNC migration, BSC/RNC configuration (AoIP, AoTDM / Iu over IP), INAP/Camel configurations, Signaling creation (MGW/MSS), New card integration, PRI configuration, HLR Profile, IMSI analysis, Announcement Loading, New Feature Implementations.
  • Execute Hardware replacement and Fault Localization OMU Fault Rectification, Disaster Recovery, CG, LI and fault localization, Backup failure troubleshooting, CM activity failure troubleshooting, Call failure troubleshooting, CDR/Billing troubleshooting etc.
  • Execute Software upgrade Configuration Patch upgrade & Version upgrade, MGW license loading, MSS License loading, Firmware upgrade etc.
  • Execute Daily Operation Activities MGW/MSS/Backup, Health Check and Alarm clearance as per SLA, Cause Code troubleshooting, Subscriber issues, Tracker Creation and update as per processes agreed with Customer, Incident Reporting and Management etc.
  • Hands on Experience in ZTE based tracing, user message tracing, full flow tracing, ISUP tracing, SIGTRAN Tracing, Context Tracing, ZTE tracing and MGW tracing. Should be able to analyze Wireshark and system traces for all the 2g/3g/protocols.
  • Customer Issue handling and Emergency Handling as per OLA/SLA
  • Handling of proactive support
  • Strong Competence in ZTE Core Nodes (NFV Platform, Legacy ETCA Platform, ZXCloud E9000, ZXUN MSC, ZXUN MGW, ZXUN LIG, ZXUN USPP, ZXUN DSC, ZXUN SBC, vMSC, vMGW, vLIG, vEMS, vUSPP(HLR/HSS), vDSC, vLIG, vCTS, vSBC, vEMS, ETCA MGW, ZXWN MSC, UGMSC, ZXWN MGW).)
  • A high level of ZTE MGW, MSS,HSS, SBC, STP, EIR,LIG knowledge
  • Network level troubleshooting.
  • Network level competence including protocols & features.
  • knowledge Conceptual knowledge on HLR, HSS, OSS, Packet Core, BSS, MPBN and other related concepts
  • Able to perform Change Management.
General Skill:
  • Knowledge of Managed Service Telecom Operations Practice.
