Job Description

    The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection, in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Quality Control Inspector who will be responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection, in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Research faculty, technicians, and support staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Unit leadership, research faculty, technicians, and studentsThis role is 100% onsite, 40 hours per a week, Mon.-Fri.ResponsibilitiesInspect the fabrication and production of prototype parts to ensure they have been made to customerspecifications; inspection may be mechanical, digital, optical, by coordinate measuring machine, or by anyother means necessaryUsing various measuring devices, testing equipment, and prescribed specifications, perform appropriate testsneeded to verify fabrication has been performed as specifiedDevelop and document quality assurance guidelines, checklists, and defect reports for anomalies detectedduring testing process and refer as appropriate for correctionIdentify ongoing quality issues and make suggestions for improvementMaintain and calibrate metrology equipmentMaintain Chromium conversion and anodization tank calibrationCoordinate, track, and facilitate outside processing work such aspainting, sandblasting, anodizing, etc.Perform other related duties as assigned
