Job Description

We are looking for an individual contributor with a passion for customer - driven , collaborative , highly technical work to deliver technical expertise and oversight for a team focused on reliability and resiliency of Kronos Workforce Dimensions flagship product. The right candidate will have experience both in hands - on software development or systems engineering , as well as exposure to diagnosing and communicating about difficult problems in either engineering or production environments. This role will require a significant breadth of both technical and non - technical skills , and a creative , driven , and motivational attitude. You will be responsible for the technical leadership of the Site Reliability Engineering team , a global team developing and delivering on a vision to proactively and reactively manage reliability , resiliency , performance , and improvement of Kronos end - to - end ability to respond when issues arise. You will be a key collaborator , leader , and influencer within Kronos engineering culture , improving product and process equally to increase customer satisfaction with their SaaS experience. Responsibilities The role reports to the Manager , Site Reliability Engineering and will be responsible for the technical leadership of the global Site Reliability Engineering Team Lead blameless postmortems , including root cause analysis and long - term proactive improvements , for highly technical , complex issues involving distributed architecture and microservices Drive architecture and software improvement through interaction with architects , engineers , and operations , including requirements definition and technical design reviews Establish documented best practices and techniques for technical evaluation of outages , runbooks for root cause analysis , and technical guidance and education to other teams throughout the organization Perform reliability design reviews for significant new system architecture changes and product features Qualifications 8 - 10+ years experience in a combination of software engineering or operations roles , prior experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent is preferred with 3 - 5+ years experience in a major cloud environment (AWS , Azure , GCP) Experience in a technical lead or architect role , leading or mentoring junior personnel Experience with common web application technologies (Node , Angular , Java , Spring , etc.) Experience with operations tools (Splunk , HP OV , BMC , Prometheus , dynaTrace , AppDynamics , etc.) Experience automating manual processes using Python , Unix Shell (bash , zsh) , etc. Experience with performance engineering or performance analysis is strongly preferred Experience with complex root cause analysis or issue resolution on highly distributed systems Able to communicate highly technical and complex issues , root cause , and elaborate options for resolution , across a variety of organizations and experience levels Corporate overview You re empowered when you re a Kronite.
