Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:Procurement Management:Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials and services.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.Vendor Management:Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.Inventory Control:Oversee the inventory management process to ensure optimal stock levels.Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.Budget Management:Prepare and manage the purchase department budget, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.Monitor and control expenditure to stay within budgetary constraints.Compliance and Risk Management:Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to procurement.Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process.Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals.Qualifications:1. Should have had experience in coordination/procurement from multiple vendors 2. Should be comfortable with traveling regularly.3. Good knowledge of Excel for recording data and reporting. Should be able to write agreements5. Can be from industries like paper mill, recycling, etc (just examples where procurement happens from multiple vendors)6 Proven experience in procurement and vendor coordination, ideally in sectors such as agriculture, recycling, or similar industries.7. Proficiency in Excel for data recording, analysis, and reporting.9. Understanding of agricultural procurement is a plus.
