Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONSpecific Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering during project execution.
  • Quickly grasp technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, validators, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and so forth to make our documentation easier to use.
Technical Writing of Ovation and Add-On Releases:
  • Must adhere to Technical Communication Style Guide provided by Pittsburgh and the Microsoft Writing Style Guide during every documentation cycle.
  • Analyse, reuse, edit, or create content according to the documentation requirement.
  • Address all the assigned SDRS and findings for a particular release.
  • Work on the SRF under the guidance of senior writers.
  • Create user manual and online help to help end-users use a variety of Ovation applications.
  • Create and maintain the information architecture paying attention to documentation flow and topic transition concepts.
  • Deliver high-quality documentation through thorough product understanding and attention to detail.
Project Execution:
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in the project conference calls to discuss the status and queries.
  • Work diligently on the feedback received from SMEs, peers, editors, and leads and proceed towards the project closure procedures (print and ISO) on a timely basis.
  • Update the Writer Assignment sheet and send work progress report to PWS Documentation Manager on a timely basis.
Other Key Skills:
  • Develop basic knowledge of the entire Ovation system.
  • Take initiatives to share expertise such as sharing knowledge regularly by conducting brainstorming sessions, product demo/hands on, and so forth in the team.
  • Continually develop documentation flow and topic transition concepts.
  • Continually develop the skill of maintaining consistency across the topics in documentation.
  • Continually learn from the editorial feedback and strive to close the review comments work in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.
  • Attend all the assigned training sessions to develop/enhance skills.
Technical Competencies:. Mastery of Authoring-related tools.. Knowledge of grammar and sentence structure for American English.. Ability to document basic technical products.Education/Training/Experience. BE/BTech in computer science/electronics/electrical/instrumentation or BCA/MCA with minimum 4 years of technical writing experience Basic knowledge of distributed control systems and power plant process would be preferred.. Excellent written and verbal skills in English.. Must have fair knowledge of the Microsoft writing style guide or another industry-standard style guide.. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office.. Must have good knowledge of an industry-standard authoring tool.. Ability to work in a team.. Ability to interact and gather required information from subject matter experts.. Ability to resolve basic technical matters.. Self-motivated and willing to accept challenging assignments.Please Note: We are targeting to hire candidates who were on break and now want to rejoin the workforce after a gap ().
