Job Description

Position :Shift Officer (Production)Location :Navsari (Gujarat)Qualification :BE Mechanical / BE MetallurgyExperience :2 to 5 Years in Steel IndustrySalary Range :Open

  • Look after shift duty.
  • Responsible to assign the job to workers.
  • Responsible for man management of workmen.
  • To keep, maintain & update allrelevant records.
  • To ensure implementation of Quality System in the department.
  • Complete knowledge of production process like cold rolling operation ,Annealing process, Metal processing, Hydraulics etc.
  • Will be able to Manage shift activity ,production processes, Shift Manpower.
  • Will be fully responsible for improving yield & waste control in his shift.
  • Will be responsible for cost reduction initiatives.
  • Knowledge of core Metallurgy & testing methods.
  • Primarily responsible for effecting production in accordance with the planning and scheduling.
  • Responsible for productivity, quality of products and safety of the people and plant equipment in the shifts.
  • To coordinate with Engineering Services in the shifts for maintenance related issues.
  • To ensure that shift reports / charge books / dockets/ log book are updated in his shift
  • To arrange for required manpower in the beginning of shifts for all production centers & their leave planning.
  • To carry out any other tasks as allotted from time to time by the seniors; such as Stock taking on the 1st of every month, updating of housekeeping, EMS and QMS related activity etc.
  • To assist and help Production operators for setting of mill, tooling and operation of mill in
  • Case of critical and complicated sections.
  • To implement planning issued by ppc in his shift .
  • To coordinate with ppc for the reduction in WIP inventory.
Mandatory Skills :
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy, Mechanical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and powepoint)
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within stipulated
  • time.
