Job Description

The Plant Air Compressor (PAC) Aftermarket Solution Manager - India role shall be instrumental for Services Profitable growth by closely working with Services/Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and Re-manufacturing Services. The position is responsible for supporting Sales in the attainment of dynamic growth for the product line covering PAC Remanufacturing and overhaul Services and the overall compressed air system total life cycle solutions meeting customers requirements in terms of reliability and efficiency of compressed air equipment and offering optimized total cost of ownership.Strong customer focus, product knowledge, engineering skills, business acumen, passion, and results oriented execution competencies are critical for success in this role. He will drive Ingersoll-Rand s profitable revenue growth by providing efficient and reliable solutions that will strengthen and improve connectivity and partnership with Customers.Engineering and Product skills - In depth knowledge of centrifugal compressors construction, principle of operations, control logics, compressed air systems, instrumentation and electrical systems. Knowledge of test codes for centrifugal compressorsResponsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate all the projects related to PAC performance enhancements, airend exchange, factory overhauls/re-manufacturing form technical and engineering point of view to confirm feasibility and profitability both for MSG Centac and MSG TA product line and build pipeline.
  • Work as specialist providing expertise, engineering and product knowledge in order to have precise scope of supply and associated cost estimations for each project. Act as a gatekeeper between Sales and internal teams ensuring to meet Customer expectations.
  • Support Sales from technical and engineering point of view in critical contracts and in contrast of competitive non OEM offering , including customer visits, savings potential analysis, payback calculation and solutions implementation
  • Coordinate efforts with the sales team to determine the best strategy for existing, new, or updated products
  • New Product Development (NPD) support efforts required for new product development with close working with Product Management, Finance and Engineering on potential new PAC Services Products like controls and other onsite Service Solutions.
  • Market knowledge - Review costs and assess prices continually together to ensure they are competitive, profitable, and consistent.
  • Customer Intimacy - Be able to deal with Customers during offering phase in support of sales and during factory visits for job inspections and witnessed test. Ability to listen to Customer needs and propose solutions supported with detailed explanations related to reliability benefits and energy savings. Understand Customer decisional process, capex/opex expenditure and acceptable payback/ROI time for investments.
  • Reviews existing customer panel BOMs to understand what their current configuration (eg. Engineering controls options, Program edition, panel layout, etc.) is and help them with optimum solutions.
  • Ensure that pre-order scope / cost/ price are aligned with post order and seamless handover to execution teams.
  • Be an active player in the launch of new or updated products.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Experience: 12 to 15 years.
  2. Qualification: Bachelors in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics.
  3. Preferred to be in role of Application or Requisition Engineers for 1-3 years.
Key Competencies:
  1. Good Business Presentation skills especially on positioning Value proposition with Customers and internal stake holders.
  2. Strong knowledge on Compressed air / system fundamentals and performance estimations.
  3. Knowledge on PAC performance tools is required.
  4. Ability to work with cross-functional teams, build relationship and drive them together for common objective meeting customer requirements.
  5. Good Communication and Computer Application skills.
  6. Ability to coach and mentor experienced individuals.
