Infrastructure Project Manager

Job Description

The position will have responsibility for managing projects globally. There is a requirement to interact with all parts of Information Technology(IT) division and directly with the organization s business to gather requirements, facilitate design, and co- ordinate implementation of solutions that satisfy demand for infrastructure servicesRoles & Responsibilities: Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityPerform functional analysis of solutions as part of developing the initial requirements.Develop a detailed work breakdown and project plan to monitor and track progress.Successfully manage the relationship with the project customer and all stakeholdersPerform risk management to minimize project risks.Development of clear roles and responsibilities across project teams.Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projectsEnsure resource availability and allocationCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationProjects to be managed using corporate tools and processes.Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniquesMeasure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques Report and escalate to management as neededManage and control the budget of the projects and also the project tracking in PPMC with the upload of the documentation and interaction with local Controller and representatives for the several aspects.Effective handover of IT solutions to the operations teams. This includes providing required operations manuals, work instructions, configuration items and ensuring SLA s are defined.Ensure that all relevant IT aspects are considered during SME input to solution design. This requires that functional requirements for integration, security, operations, continuity and availability can be meetEnsure that proposed designs can be delivered to meet target service levels and performance indicatorsQualification, Skills & Experience: STRATEGIC IMPACT Optimal performance of Merck ONE Infrastructure project deliveryImproved support of strategic initiativesImproved quality of business and technical solutionsImproved quality and speed of executionImproved reaction to constantly changing business requirementsFacilitates cross IPT collaborationCOOPERATION Interaction with IT Domains to validate requirements, scope and report project progressInteraction with ONE Infrastructure technical IPTs and SME s to plan, budget, implement and control the projectsWORK EXPERIENCE Experience of project management in a matrix organizationExperience managing complex technical projects / programsExperience managing infrastructure projects, involving Network, Telecommunications, Data center, Server & Storage technologiesExperience developing comprehensive solutions using multiple infrastructure platforms and technical componentsExperience managing globally and cross- functionallyExperience with Life Science and/or, Healthcare and Performance Materials industriesFull understanding of and experience managing within constraints of GxPExperience using AGILE tools and frameworkInformation specific to the position: Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and scope to a high qualityStrong analytical skills and ability to think strategicallyAnalytical with the ability to break complex problems into manageable tasksExcellent organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills. Ability to drive consensus / set mutually agreeable goals.Clear understanding of industry standard IT infrastructure platforms, terminology, and leading providers, including Network, Telecommunications, Datacenter, Server & StoragePMBOK knowledge.
