Job Description

As part of Ingersoll-Rand s IT Infrastructure organization, the IT Infrastructure Project Manager will lead project teams and deployments in support of New Site/Site Moves, IPT, Network Refresh and M&A projects. The experienced IT PM will provide guidance to project teams in ways that support the company s IT Infrastructure. Candidate must perform as a project leader, able to make decisions, be organized, great communicator and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Must be able to lead project and teams in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to manage large virtual teams. The IT PM should have strong collaboration skills, experience in IT Networks and Project Management in order to be successful. This role can be remote, minor travel may be required.Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected IT projects
  • Decide on suitable approaches and objectives in support of projects
  • Coordinate cross-project activities
  • Lead, train and assist junior IT project managers
  • Apply change, risk and resource management
  • Assess project performance and aim to maximize ROI
  • Resolve projects higher scope issues
  • Prepare reports and present to Sr. Leadership within IT and Business Units.
  • Document and drive issues through resolution, escalating as necessary
  • Enhance department and organization s reputation by accepting ownership for exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager (self-starter)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and soft skills verbal, written, collaboration and team building
  • Strong problem-solving ability; able to think critically to identify improvement opportunities
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or related field and 10+ years of IT / Technology experience.
  • 10 years Project Management experience, emphasis on IT Infrastructure
  • Strong experience in deploying Networks (hands-on experience desirable)
  • Highly analytical and focused, with keen insight into human behaviour and motivational forces
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and execute on details, while keeping the big picture in sight
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively participate in multiple, concurrent project
