Job Description

    Manager - Industrial EngineeringKEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPlanningSupport the GM Industrial Engineering in planning of the annual targets for cost saving andresource optimization for the plantSchedule and plan the efficiency and productivity studies for the plant including doing therequired coordination with other departments at the plant, planning the resources requiredand schedulingProvide inputs to the GM Industrial Engineering for planning of the improvement projectsat the plant and preparing the presentation of the project plan.Provide support to the GM Industrial Engineering in undertaking feasibility studies for theimprovement projects at the plantProvide support to the management during LTS agreements with the unions and provide themanagement detailed plans / alternatives on manpower numbers and productivity in linewith production output plansIE OperationsConduct studies to determine the IE norms for new plant expansions and work with crossfunctional team to finalize on the IE norms to be adoptedEnsure all departments at the plant track the resource utilization, wastage of time andmaterial, etc as per the parameters defined and provide periodic reports for the same as perdefined formats / normsCompile and analyse the resource utilization MIS reports submitted by all departments,undertake root cause analysis and provide inputs to the GM Industrial Engineering forimprovement projectsRegularly monitor inventory levels and usage of storage space at the plant to identifyopportunities to optimize storage space and inventoryManpower OptimizationReview and validate the manpower plan for worker category and contract staff at therespective plant based on production plans and productivity standards definedTrack and monitor manpower usage and cost at the plant in a daily basis vis-a-vis the timeand performance standards defined, identify wastages and problem areas and work with thedepartmental heads at the plant to identify corrective measuresMonitor the level of MURI on manpower and identify initiatives to reduce the same at theplant. Work with the GM Industrial Engineering in undertaking these initiatives at the plantProvide inputs in optimising manpower cost and productivity for the plant to GM IndustrialEngineering for participation in discussion on the Long term Settlement (LTS)Machine and Material OptimizationRegularly review processes and efficiency of machines at the plantRecommend ways and methods to improve worker efficiency on the machinesReview material handling and storing process and identify areas of wastageIdentify bottlenecks in processes and workflows and work with reorganize the same toincrease efficiencyDrive SMED (Single minute exchange of Dyes) for time savingsOptimization through Layout improvementsConduct study for optimization through changes in plant layout for existing or newmanufacturing processesCreate a project plan by working closely with the engineering team to get the necessaryapproval from the senior team at the plantErgonomic OptimizationDrive Ergonomic studies for improvements across all departments through MURI MUDAprojects to enhance performance and improve working environmentRecommend ways and methods to improve worker efficiency by reducing physical andmental stress in the systemEducation and Experience RequiredEducation:BE / BTechSpecialization in Industrial EngineeringInterested Candidate sends their updated resume (hidden_email) Call for more details at hidden_mobile, hidden_mobile on MondaytoSaturdayat10:00AM to 6:30 PM
