The successful candidate will gain experience of a wide variety of up-to-date technologies whilst working to structured deployment processes at some of the world s leading data centre facilities and large blue-chip organisations. This is a technical position where applicants must show initiative and be able to problem-solve in an unsupervised environment.What you bring:Good knowledge of supporting Unix/Linux based Trading application environments (Linux Red Hat)Basic knowledge on FIX protocol Knowledge of any RDBMS database ( e. Sybase ) Good knowledge of application support domain Good Knowledge of Unix environment and shell scripting knowledge of Perl scripts Basic understanding of networking concepts Experience in working with Webservers Apache Tomcat** *Must be ready to work in 24*7 environment.**** Development Value: Exposure to a wide array of System technologies Work in an active Financial production environment Ameliorate current technical set ups International culture and projects teammates, colleagues and clientsEssential Experience Required: 3+ years work experience related to application administration.Desirable Experience Required: Past experience of working in a production environmentEssential Skills Required: Strong knowledge to support Linux based applications. Strong knowledge to support Unix-Solaris based applications Automation via Scripting (pearl, shell)What you will be doing:Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as application start-up processes and backups. Creation and maintenance of scripts to automate repetitive processes Configure / add new services as necessary Supporting the application and troubleshooting the data content of a market data ticker plant and who knows market data specifics as well as has operational chops. Coordinating with Hardware Support Team for all System Maintenance related issues such as scheduled patching, hardware upgrades etc Releasing software to production environment Monitor all production systems regularly on various parameters and make sure they are always available. Perform ongoing application performance tuning, application upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Coordinate and collaborate with infrastructure teams, business teams, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of Production environment to meet business demands. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary Managing incident queues and ensuring quick turnaround for good communication back to the businessAdded bonus if you have:
