Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

• Accountabilities are the descriptive statements that describe the main results that the role holder is expected to deliver. These are the enduring aspects of a role and do not change significantly from one year to the next.
• Locate or develop new raw materials with suppliers to ensure products introduced to market is of the greatest value.
• Work with PLT teams in identifying new product opportunities and assessing commercial feasibility of new Products.
• Identify raw material required for producing of new laminate products that meet with customers and end-users requirements and listed VoC/CTQs.
• Assess technical and process capabilities of the plant to consistently produce new products and identify if new investment in technology or fixed assets are required.
• Coordinate with relevant functions in setting the project timeline to develop and introduce new products to the market.
• Cross-functionally manage new product development projects with ADIKC and relevant functions and ensure that the new product Introduction to the market is on schedule.
• Work closely with Operation teams in conducting coater trials in the plants, with a focus on managing trials in ANZ / ASEAN.
• Work with knowledge center in conducting converting trials of new products with customers end-users and collate the Converting trials summary.
• Establish technical specifications of new products and preparation of product datasheet.
• Support Sales Marketing teams for the launch of new products.
• Produce monthly reports on the new product introduction activities.
• Qualify new raw material and/or new suppliers
• Lead production trials, converting and application trials, provide technical recommendations and ensure success of product qualification.
• Lead and coordinate across relevant functions for trial success, analyze trial reports and assist in resolving any obstacles related to the material qualification.
• Lead all lab analysis related to product development inclusive aging tests or other studies deemed relevant.
• Create customer Product Data sheets for new product launches.
• Develop potential technical specifications for new and improved products.
• Develop a portfolio of internal and customer training tools/presentations.
• Research customer technical specifications and requirements with current or potential technical specifications of company products.
• As a consultant to advise in solving customer complex quality problems and complex issues by identifying short-term root cause and corrective actions.
• Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoot product and modify/customize product as needed to meet customer needs and requirements.
• Assess customer needs in order to recommend appropriate products/services. Investigate new applications or improvements to products with customers.
• Gain preliminary understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements related to product and market applications.
• Provide timely, detailed follow-up trip reports on visits to improve products and services.
• Manage the Processes used for development including VoC/CTQs; New Raw Material Laminate Specs Tracking Development projects.
• Develop qualification protocol of all new raw material components.
• Lead the physical properties tests and liaise with relevant supporting units. Interpret the test results and conclude if new raw material is qualified.
• Work with Operation team of the plant where the new raw material will be used on the coater trials and confirmation runs to ensure that the new raw material is run smoothly on the coater
• Establish technical specifications of new raw material and handover the quality control of new raw materials to Quality Assurance (QA) Department.
• Work with the marketing team for the transition and/or launch of products using new raw material.
• Work with Supply Chain Management (SCM) team and/or Global/Regional Component Expert in assessing technical capabilities and development of potential suppliers of new raw material.
• Gather the feedback from customers end-users on the existing product construction and improve its performance to meet with customers end-users requirements.
• Work with Sales Marketing team in thoroughly understanding the feedback from customers end-users, issues in converting and/or end-use applications that involve the existing product construction.
• Analyze and identify performance gaps between the performance of existing product construction and how customers end-users expect it to perform. Determine necessary actions to improve the performance of existing product construction to meet with customers end-users requirements.
• Cross-functionally work with SCM and Operation team in executing the product performance improvement project and ensure that the project timeline is on track.
• Work with the marketing team on the communication regarding any change in performance of existing product construction to both internal external customers.
• Work with Technical Service Sales teams in conducting converting trials of improved performance products with customer end-users where applicable.
• Review technical specifications of improved performance product and revise product datasheet where applicable.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Strong Technical report writing Presentation skills.
• Minitab Statistical knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong command of common computer software programs (i.e. MS Office; Minitab; Google Drive etc.).

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor degree/Masters in Engineering-Chemical; Printing Packaging or related field
• Six Sigma Skills Certified GB Level
• Required 3-5 years of related Technical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of working experiences in packaging film / paper manufacturing; adhesive compounding or related industries.
• Experience with product development and product commercialization processes.
• Strong Project Management skills Drive; document and execute strategies when leading projects to meet the business needs and timeframes.
• Excellent problem solving analysis and analytical skills.
• Customer focus with strong customer relationship-building experience.
• Independent and team player.
• Excellent written technical and verbal communication and presentation skills.
