Job Description

  • Person should be responsible for tool management for machining of cylinder block & cylinder head line cast iron and Aluminium components.
  • Day to day support for the production to make tools available as per requirement
  • Cutting tool development for tool productivity, quality & cost reduction.
  • Tool development for new product requirment
  • Inventory management for tooling as per targets.
  • Co-ordinate with tool supplier, purchase team for tool procurement, development
  • Identify & implement improvement projects for continuous improvement in process or in tooling
  • Handling of the tooling operator and training to upgrade their skill
  • Process Issues / Quality issues Resolution & root cause analysis related to cutting tooling.
  • New model Machining set up , line setup and ramp up.
  • Capacity improvements through debottlenecking and improvements.
  • First time ok & zero downtime on tool availability
  • DrivingTooling cost reduction initiatives for implementation and practice for idea generation and implementation
  • Interaction with all support functions and concern resolution with the help of CFT
  • Skill for critical tool setting on zoller m/c/presetter & CNC machine programs.
  • Monitoring the inventories and knowledge about SAP transaction
  • Inward & outward system for tools monitoring & control
  • Handling workmen related activities like shift deployment, absenteeism, work allotment.
  • Encouraging personnel for Kaizens, I4 Ideas generation and implementation
  • Train teams on using QC and problem solving tools
  • Do the resource planning within budget
  • Aware of IATF/ISO TS 16949 system, PPAP and APQP.
COMPETENCY EXPECTED:
  • Knowledge of tools geometry for machining operations & new technology
  • Metal cutting operations
  • Manufacturing Process knowledge
  • Knowledge of CNC programming & operating
  • Tooling Poka-yoke, Kaizen
  • Knowledge on tool coating & re-sharpening
  • Result Orientation with Execution Excellence
  • Knowledge in Auto cad and SAP with expr required
