Northern Trust is looking for a Developer with experience in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Analytics, Digital Experience and Cloud architectures for its Foreign Exchange (FX) development team. This individual, as part of an Agile development team, will be responsible for analysis, design and development of data analytics/BI solutions that meet business and technical requirements.Major Duties
  • Design and develop Business Intelligence and Data Analytics components that meet the requirements of the FX product owners and team architects.
  • Apply experience in data science/analytics to FX operational data store projects and data warehousing initiatives.
  • Work hand in hand with Client Digital UX developers to deliver data to front end components by developing API s that efficiently leverage global data stores.
  • Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform
  • Provide technical guidance to other members of the development team
  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies, guidelines and processes
Knowledge/Skills
  • Agile Methodology
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Foreign Exchange(FX) order management systems (ie Murex, Spectrum, Wall Street Systems) and front office trade lifecycle a plus.
  • Knowledge of Visual C++ and/or Java frameworks, Python 2.7, SQL Server and Datastage a plus.
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery
Required Skills:
  • Experience developing within an Agile/Scrum development environment using continuous integration tools such as: Maven, Bamboo, TFS, ANT, Coded UI and Sonar.
  • Knowledge in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
  • Experience in REST API Development experience.
  • JIRA or for defect and backlog management.
  • Ability/experience in implementing test automation solutions.
  • Ability/experience in Power BI Reporting development and design.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and learn new technologies.
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience.
  • Experience with BI and Data Analytical tools. Data warehousing and ODS design and implementation.
Preferred/ Recommended:
  • Coded UI and Unit Test scripting tools
  • Development experience in Python
  • Development experience in Datastage
  • Development experience in Power BI or Tableau a plus.
  • Development experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry(PCF) is preferred
Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Overall 4+ Years of Industry experience
