Your responsibilities will include:
Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivers high quality R&D functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for the Global Product Engineering team. Support multiple technical projects of major magnitude and scope. Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches. Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff. Develops and monitors department budgets. Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. Co-ordinates sessions with project managers/core team leaders/Tech Team Leaders to look for opportunities for staff to learn about new initiatives or volunteer on new projects. Drives the development of department tools and methodologies. Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and R&D deliverables. Establishes cross-functional team relationships. Provides an overview of the function and role of his/her group, technical skill sets, to other groups and/or divisions. Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues. Works with global team either as an extended team or as a support team to accomplish project goals. Works with other teams across the globes to implement best practice and drive efficiency.
What are we looking for in you:
Advanced degree with 8+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. ME, mechanical or Materials Science background. Hands-on experience with the CAD/CAE tools Experience managing small to medium size CAD/CAE teams Ability to interface with customers to understand the requirement Proven success with the full cycle of product development including Exploratory, Technology Development & Product Development Experience working in a global work environment Demonstrated capability to lead high performing technical teams tackling complex problems.
