Associate Platform Engineer - Linux Overview: The North American Operations and Technology team is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator, Platform Support to provide support of technical hardware and software expertise in support of MasterCard Linux Operating systems and platforms. This is a mid-level IT support position, with the expectation that the candidate has the basic Linux skills and is also willing to learn fast. Assist senior Linux administrators & Consultants with day-to-day IT support functions and maintenance activities.Role: tSupport and maintain operating system(s), such as Oracle Linux along with KVM to service customers. tComplete status reports, implementations, troubleshooting of systems tUse configuration management and infrastructure automation for repeatable tasks tDesign and implementation of OS build processes and automation providing the right level of control and validation tAssist users with Operating Systems or hardware problems. All About You: Education: tBachelor s or relevant associate degree with emphasis on information technologies or the equivalent job-related experience.Knowledge / Experience: tExperience in systems administration tKnowledge of operating systems, infrastructure software, communications, computer hardware and peripherals. tGood knowledge and understanding of computer technology, incident management and problem resolution procedures is preferred. tAn understanding of project management principles is preferred.Skills/ Abilities: tProfessionalism skills and good work ethics are required. tCustomer support and good communications skills are preferred. tAbility to follow documented processes and proceduresDue to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
