Job Description

Supplier Quality Control

  • Process & Product Audit at suppliers premises.(AS PER AUDIT PLAN)
  • Sub-supplier Audit for Special Processes in co-ordination with Purchase.
  • Supplier upgradation & technical inputs for all special Processes.
  • Initiation & follow up with all suppliers for Corrective action closure.
  • ISIR for all new samples & communication to suppliers for ISIR results.
  • Pilot batch verification at suppliers premises where ever applicable.
  • Making of supplier Quality Rating on a periodic basis.
  • To follow up with suppliers for Annual Layout Inspections results.
  • Help to supplier in making CONTROL PLAN, FMEA & PPAP documents.
  • In-House Quality Control and Assurance-
  • Gauge & instrument Calibration using in-house & external sources.
  • Planning for repair & rectification of Gauges & instruments.
  • Cp/Cpk parameter identification and improvement.
  • Resolution of Assembly Problems & PDIR of all Finish Products.
  • Conducting Product, Process, Dock, Internal quality audit as per system.
  • Managing ISO9001 Quality System, internal audit and certification process.
Customer Quality
  • Receiving complaints from customer and its awareness to all persons in plant.
  • Failure Analysis of Field Returned Failed Parts and making reports & Initiation of Actions to Prevent Reoccurrence
  • Verification of process to find out root cause for customer complaint.
  • Taking various trials to overcome & prevent customer complaints.
  • Implementation of Pokayoke on the root cause & submission of C A P A on Customer complaint.
  • Making necessary changes in Control plan, FMEA and Inspection method in line with Customer complaint.
  • Horizontal deployment of action taken in similar type product.
  • If possible taking deviation for pipeline material in which defect reported prior to corrective action taken.
  • Attending Complaints at Customer end & Warranty meetings.
  • Analysis of field complaints and taking actions to prevent repetition of problem in field.
  • Taking customer satisfaction evaluation survey and actions to become best supplier.

  • BE or Diploma (Mech/ Prod)
  • 8 yrs and above for BE, 12 years and above for Diploma
  • Analytical skills, Communication Skills with customers and local/ global internal stakeholders, ability to work cross-functionally
  • Quality Tools, Problem Solving tools
  • Ability to drive improvements in Supplier Quality System
  • Knowledge of Casting, Machining processes (mandatory) and Gear Cutting processes (preferable)
