As such, you will work on integrating high level solutions concepts based on iour core Blue Planet Multi-Domain Service Orchestration (MDSO), Network Function Virtualization Orchestration (NFVO), Inventory (BPI), Analytics and Assurance (BPUAA), Route Optimization and Assurance (ROA) product portfolio, to validate their functionality, reliability, scalability and efficiency, enabling new sales opportunities from our sales and go-to-market teams.What will you do at Ciena

• Engage with various Blue Planet solution managers/PLMs, engineering and verification teams to help them transforming high level solution concepts into optimized equipment deployment configurations using real captives and/or simulation for demonstration and sales enablement activities.
• Develop test strategies to fully exercise proposed solutions functionalities, document these concepts into organized test plans, review them with Solutions Development teams to ensure appropriateness and completeness, execute test coverage within the general context of these solutions and track execution and results using TestRail.
• Drive (plan, schedule and implement) lab buildout activities to fully address proposed solution enablement scenarios and coordinate missing equipment acquisition/sharing agreements with the Blue Planet lab support team and/or other sources.
• Coordinate with various Blue Planet engineering and verification teams resources assignments (both material and personnel) and knowledge transfer sessions to allow solution deployment and testing activities to proceed
• Monitor the usage and maintain the Blue Planet Solution lab infrastructure ensuring resources always remain in a high state of availability.
• Compile and analyze test results and prepare test reports on all Solutions testing activities and present general status updates to program management representatives on regular basis.
• Investigate issues and highlight critical problems that can have potential customer impact with these solutions, consult with various engineering software development teams in finding resolution.
• Lead the effort to automate all manually devised and executed test cases using automation best practices, including the maintenance of these test cases going forward.
• Share your vast technical experience and mentor more junior members of the extended Blue Planet team.

• Excellent technical skills related to the deployment of L0 through to L3 managed solutions and services, including but not limited to Ciena product line (6500, 5430, Carrier Ethernet Switches, WaveServer, Z-series and all associated Network Management platforms: OneControl, MCP, ESM, Planet Operate in particular) would be considered assets.
• Knowledge and/or experience working with the Blue Planet Service Orchestration products (MDSO/NFVO) in support of L1, L2 and/or L3 services management, Blue Planet Analytics, Blue Planet Route Optimizer and Analytics (ROA), or Blue Planet Inventory (BPI) products, their general functions and micro-services architecture would be considered assets.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills associated with enterprise and carrier software and services solutions in general.
• Knowledge and experience working with VMware ESXi, OpenStack virtualization software.
• Knowledge and experience working with UNIX/Linux/RHEL/Ubuntu and/or any other server OS, be it on bare metal and/or Virtual Machine, and system admin functions.
• Test automation experience is required (REST and/or UI Automation); experience using Postman in the context of developing automation framework would be an asset.
• Knowledge and/or work experience with Python, Java, JavaScripting, CORBA, TCL/TK/Expect, Oracle, WebLogic and/or REST API and associated tools is highly desirable.
• Knowledge and/or work experience related to network virtualization software like Open vSwitch, vRouter, etc. is highly desirable.

Required Experience:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 9 years of progressive experience in System Testing, System Integration and Deployments and/or Network Management products
