Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to liaise between product controllers and Technology team This will involve tacking requests for work; understand functional business requirements, Business Analysis; chasing outstanding items within and outside the team as well as status reporting / dashboard and project management tasksJob Background/context:The role forms part of GFTS Product Control Development Team in Pune and supports the Product Control Department who have responsibility for controlling daily profit-and-loss reporting, price verification and new trading activity and works closely with many areas of the business, including the Trading desks, Middle Office, Risk Management, Operations and FinanceKey Responsibilities:

  • Support product controllers across the globe with different Business and Teams (Project, COE, FRO and Countries teams)
  • Participate in BRD, FRD preparation, support User Testing and provide Technology interface for new country, program implementation
  • Participate in meetings/calls as required
  • Track and update project milestones and critical deliverables Update various tracking SharePoint sites and metrics
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards
  • Consults with the business clients to determine system functional specifications
  • Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; recommends solutions
  • Installs and supports customer exposure systems
  • Leads system change process from requirements through implementation; provides user and operational support of application to business users
  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identifies and communicates risks and impacts
  • Drives communication between business leaders and IT; exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information
  • Provides sound understanding of business analysis concepts and principles and a basic knowledge of concepts and principles in other technology areas
  • Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
  • Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated and unique situations
  • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams
Knowledge/Experience:
  • 8+ years experience in software development and 5+ years of experience in Finance or Product Control industry is must
  • Excellent understanding of Product Control Function including market risk, financial instruments pricing, Independent price verifications, profit and loss controls & adjustments, Valuation adjustments, PAA etc
  • Good understanding of Financials accounting and Volcker Reporting
  • Advanced Excel, Visio skills and MS office applications
  • Knowledge of Databases, Sql Willingness to learn technologies for data access/data analysis as required
  • CFA preferred

  • Bachelor of Science or Master degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline
