Job Description

    *Basic FunctionThe cloud network operations engineer has a primary purpose to provide global top-tier operational support covering public cloud technologies to Emerson teams that host product applications and services in the public cloud as both PaaS and SaaS solutions. This position also provides guidance to development teams on cloud network, security, deployment patterns, and best practices developed by the Emerson Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). Fulfilling this function requires a strong understanding of public cloud technologies, network, security, application development and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Overall, this role acts as a bridge between the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and Emerson s product development teams., * PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills covering a wide variety of technology stacks
    • Ability to resolve network routing problems both in the cloud and in on-prem environments
    • Demonstrate expert level understanding of TCP/IP protocol, subnetting and WAN connectivity
    • Mastery of generating and interpreting pcaps in cloud and traditional on-prem network environments
    • Expertise in application delivery methods (load balancing) and tiered architecture designs
    • Working knowledge of network and security with respect to Microsoft Azure
    • Good understanding of cloud architectural patterns
    • Demonstrated experience with network and security engineering
    • Ability to communicate architectural patterns to product development teams
    • Good understanding of product/application development
    • Fundamental understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes using Terraform and Ansible
    • Works effectively in a global environment
    EDUCATION/LANGUAGE Bachelors degree in CS, MIS or related technology/engineering discipline preferred or equivalent experience required. EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
      • Three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in cloud operations
      • Experience in supporting applications in public cloud environments
      • Three (3) or more years working in a network and security engineering discipline
      • Three (3) or more years with direct working experience with MSFT Azure required
      • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) required
      • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) preferred
      • Experience providing escalated operations support required
      • Good communication and collaboration skills
