This includes Trading , Sales and Marketing , Risk Management , the Financial Division and OperationsThe current team structure is relatively flat which enables the organisation to rapidly deploy the most suitable team to meet the specific client needs. This means that the successful candidates will need to be flexible , multi - tasking and able to excel in a constantly changing environmentThe Commodities GXS platform includes sending feeds to downstream system and Risk / Regulatory reporting. GXS Platform is generic common platform for Downstream feed and Reporting. It is getting used by multiple teams in commodities for downstream and reporting requirement. The projects will vary from Front Office drive to Middle and Back Office. Development will focus on new reports or feeds to downstream system. Development will also include enhancements in framework to cater user or system requirement , maintaining HDFS infrastructure and improving it to give better performance and scalabilityKey Responsibilities: Design and development of new reports and downstream feedsDesign , development and enhancement in existing frameworkTechnical brainstorming on best approaches to tackle changes in the systemL2 / 3 support for existing production softwareConsult with business analysts & subject matter experts to determine requirements and functional specificationsContribute ideas to the evolution of the system architectureContribute ideas to the refinement of the team development tools and processesBig Data infrastructure enhancement and maintenanceKey Relationships: Trading desksSales desksRisk ManagementMiddle office Operations Production SupportDevelopment Value: The candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the Commodities business area through interaction with the trading desk , sales desks and operationsThe candidate will have exposure to the latest cutting edge technology stack and have the opportunity to work within an innovative team to implement modern and best - practice software techniquesPerson Specification Knowledge / Experience: Extensive Experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop / Hive / Impala / Spark / kafka)Extensive Experience in setting up BIG Data infrastructure on Unix environmentExtensive Experience in Java / J2EE for building high scale ApplicationExperience in developing / supporting scalable , highly fault tolerant distributed systems desirableExperience working in an Agile environment with a focus on Test Driven Development (TDD)Desire to learn and implement industry best practicesInvestment Banking experience (must)Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEssential Skills: Very Strong experience in server side programming using Java / J2EE Demonstrable experience in architecting & designing high volume , data centric application Prior architectural experience on implementing Scalable , Distributed rest based API sStrong experience in Big Data technologies (Hive / impala / Spark / Kafka)Strong Experience in Setting up Big Data infrastructure on Unix platformVery strong and motivated to use industry best practices in software development(TDD)Strong communication skills , should able to interact with internal stake holders and drive as individual with minimal inputsStrong problem solving & analytical skillsMust be comfortable talking face - to - face and over the phone with our stakeholdersQualifications: Master degree (in science , computers , information technology or engineering),
