Job Description

As a senior Java (on Unix) Developer/Architect in the Global Commodities Market Data team, the candidate will be involved in Designing, Developing ,Maintaining and enhancing a large-scale Market Data system and client facing services (including Comdata, PG and IPT services) and will own all client facing servicesHe will be involved in building a strategic data platform used across the commodities business catering to a future stateThe candidate will be expected to work very closely with traders , quantitative analysts and other downstreams across our global locations and lead the delivery of the solutions for automated and interactive market data publication and distribution systemsWe are looking for someone who is very strong technically and is capable of working in a very agile environment with an emphasis on software craftsmanshipAble to do proactive capacity planning, design for future keeping in mind various organizational initiatives and mandatesThe candidate will not be limited to Java tech stack and will be required to involve in POCs on emerging technologies and integration opportunities with Citi mandated tools and technologiesJob Background/Context:The successful candidate will be very detail-oriented, forward looking, assertive and should have a very strong stakeholder management skills in addition to an proven track record of deliveryStrong communication is also important for this roleA demonstrably strong technology understanding, and architecting skills combined with business understanding will be required by the successful candidateSense of ownership and ability to lead in crisis situations is expectedA background in Commodities and/or market env data is a mustShould have good exposure to design and development on Information Security, Interface building etc.Good understanding of Software development lifecycles and automation tools/devOps is mandatedUnderstanding of Citi Standards and Change management process is requiredShould be selfstarter and be able to challenge status quoKey Responsibilities:Working closely with key stakeholders in front office, middle office, quantitative analysis, and market risk to define and develop strategic, stable and resilient solutions in an agile environmentOwn and drive the platform s overall design and architecture for futuristic Market Data APICollaborating with other global Commodities technology teams and more widely across markets technologyDeveloping and maintaining very strong relationships with Front Office stakeholdersSince the platform is already in production the candidate will also be required to work and resolve stability issues and production breaks leading to developmentUnderstand, adheare and adopt standard CITI development model and tools for quality and productivityShould help build a future ready technology centric team/organisationDevelopment Value:An ideal opportunity to expand and/or enhance financial products knowledge in the global securities sectorOpportunity to be involved at the very early stages of a new strategic front-office platformDataScience and analytics, *Knowledge/Experience/Skills:TechStack: Java,Swing,JabaBeans, Struts, JMX, JMS, EMS, Unix (shell scripting), Json &XML, AngularJS (exposure),Webservice & protocalls , Python (exposure)Tools: Jnuit, Jmeter, Teamcity, Eclips, Hibernate etc.Database: Oracle PlSql (mandatory) In memory DB like KDB exposure is a plusHas good understanding and drive for designing for future, interface desiging, loosly couple architecture and design aspects for performant and scalable systemExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong background in software architecture, design, programming practices, knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principlesMust be able to lead from technology desing and development front and demonstrate ownershipProven expertise in development of front office solutions and knowledge of capital market data is keyDelivery Focused ability to manage both large and small projects end to endUnderstanding of tools like Autosys, Teamcity, JIRA is requiredContribute beyond the team boundaries and involve in the inititiative as applicableQualifications:Relevant education to degree level and/or relevant practical experience
