Northern Trust is looking for an experienced UI Developer. This individual as part of an Agile development team, will be responsible for analysis, design and development of user interface components that meet business and technical requirements.Major Duties
  • Design and develop UI components in React JS and AG Grid that fit within the frameworks as outlined by technical architects.
  • Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform
  • Interface with team architects and back end API developers to provide solutions that meet stakeholder and client requirements.
  • Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior team members on technologies and the right way of doing things.
  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies, guidelines and processes
Knowledge/Skills
  • Agile Methodology
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Foreign Exchange(FX) order management systems (ie Murex, Spectrum, Wall Street Systems) and front office trade lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Visual C++ and/or Java frameworks, Python 2.7, SQL Server and Datastage a plus.
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery
Required Skills:
  • Experience developing within an Agile/Scrum development environment using continuous integration tools such as: Maven, Bamboo, TFS, ANT, Coded UI and Sonar.
  • REACT JS / latest UI Technologies
  • Knowledge in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
  • JIRA for defect and backlog management.
  • Ability/experience in implementing test automation solutions.
  • Ability/experience in Power BI or Tableau development a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and learn new technologies.
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience
Preferred/ Recommended:
  • Development experience in C++ or Java.
  • Development experience in Power BI and or Tableau.
  • Development experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry(PCF) is preferred
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in client facing web applications for client digital.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Overall 7+ Years of Industry experience as a UI developer.
