Northern Trust is looking for a Java Technical Lead to join its IIP team. This individual as part of an Agile development team, will be responsible for analysis, design and development of user interface and web services components that meet business and technical requirements.Major Duties
  • Design and develop software components based on screen design documents that fit within technical framework as outlined by technical architects
  • Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform
  • Provide technical guidance to the development team as required.
  • A team player with an ability to own the design and code as per requirement given.
  • Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management
  • Continuously looks for ways to improve the application s stability, scalability and user experience
  • Addresses architecture security and owns the team s approach to technical risks and mitigation
Knowledge/Skills
  • Agile Methodology
  • Knowledge of user interface frameworks, Java, Application servers
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery
Required Skills:
  • Agile Methodology
  • Java/J2EE and Web based development experience
  • Knowledge in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
  • Experience in either Maven, Ant or Gradle
  • Experience using at least some of the following technologies: Java1.6, J2EE, APIs, RESTful interfaces/Web Services, EJB, Spring/Struts, Unix, JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL, Secure Software Development, Static Analysis tools like Sonarcube, Checkmarx, etc, Dynamic analysis tools like AppSpider, JMS MQ/Solace, Agile development, Jira
  • Good knowledge on Database concepts especially Oracle (SQL and PL/SQL).
Nice to have
  • Good understanding on cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS and Saas), Docker containers.
  • Working knowledge on latest Spring boot, Microservices and Cloud based applications is added advantage.
  • Junit The de-facto standard for unit testing Java applications.
  • Using UML sequence/class/communication diagrams, robustness diagrams and other agile development practices
  • Experience in financial services
  • Knowledge Cloud/ PCF is an added advantage
  • Financial Domain experience
Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Overall 6+ Years of Industry experience
  • Experience in agile development methodology
  • Experience as hands-on Sr. Java developer
