Job Description

Job responsibilities

  • Focus is to ensure import-export programs comply with all applicable EU regulations and legislation and maximize savings for the business.
  • Interacting with Customs Brokers/ Freight Forwarding/Ocean/Sea freight for timely clearance of shipments and maintain MIS.
  • Checking of import / export documents, validating the correct details are declared to customs in declaration filed.
  • Ensuring that import/ Export databases are updated with correct and complete information, based on which reports are sent to senior leaders
  • Knowledge on Generalized System of Preferences REX program, Follow up and obtain Long Term Vendor Declarations, invoices with REX number.
  • Should know HTS classification, Customs valuations, origin determination and compliance requirements for Customs Trade Compliance.
  • Systematic recordkeeping of all the import/export documentation on the EU server.
  • Support global product tariff classification team with required information of products by aliasing with product managers/internal databases.
  • Cross-functional coordination with Transportation, Product managers, Finance, Supply Chain is called for.
  • In depth knowledge of Customs clearance procedures and all Bill of entry fields
  • In depth knowledge of INCOTERMS and Bill of lading/AWB

Qualification / Skills / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (International trade strong advantage)
  • At least 3 - 4 years of overall experience in customs Trade compliance
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral, any additional EU language is a plus.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Interpersonal skills - collaborate with diverse multicultural teams, social, accurate, detail oriented, eager to learn self-propellant
