Job Description

Job Title: Cybercrime AnalystLocation: Pune

  • Support the operational activity of the Cybercrime team in the monitoring of digital channels to detect cybercrime attacks, by using internally developed systems and industry-wide device profiling tools.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to draw out cyber-enabled fraud trend analysis and context, drawing relevant conclusions and assessment. Continual added value is essential.
What will you be doing
  • Increase Barclays ability in the analysis of large and often complex datasets linked to cyber-fraud cases, in order to generate actionable intelligence to prevent further attacks against Barclays.
  • Conduct and communicate analysis into cyber threat campaigns, threat actors and threat evolution, placing into context the resulting current and future threat to Barclays.
  • Contribute to the growth of the team s technical capability and understanding of cyber-enabled fraud by utilising (learning if necessary) suitable tools and analysis.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to manage and respond to internal stakeholder cybercrime requirements, producing appropriate reports and management information for a range of audiences from senior executive level through to all staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external partners, officials and peers.
  • Provide advice and guidance to wider Intelligence team in relation to technical matters as and when required.
What we re looking for:
  • Experience working in either cyber-fraud intelligence collection & analysis or cyber-enabled fraud investigations.
  • Ability to normalize and analyse large structured and unstructured datasets including but not limited to log data, electronic media and fraud system data in support of cybercrime root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of malicious tools used by cyber adversaries to target the financial sector including but not limited to eBanking Trojans, POS/ATM malware, mobile malware, webinjects, and phishing kits.
  • Familiarity with Python/Perl/Bash scripting and database languages such as SQL.
  • Experience of using analytical tools and platforms such as i2, Palantir, Maltego.
  • Experience with intelligence analysis processes, including Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and closed source intelligence gathering, social media analysis, source verification, data fusion and link analysis.
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Knowledge of the payment card transaction chain, how it can be targeted by cybercriminals to facilitate Card Not Present (CNP) fraud.
  • Knowledge of latest social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals.
  • Basic knowledge of security network architectures (e.g. Firewalls, DMZ, proxies, DNS, web and mail servers) and the principles of network security.
  • Experience with fraud detection and device profiling systems such as Threatmetrix.
  • Experience with analytical tools and systems such as Splunk, Elastic Search, Kibana, Tableau and SAS.
  • Dynamic, behavioural malware analysis skills would be an advantage.
Where will you be working
  • Pune
*Barclays recently announced the creation of a new world-class campus at Gera Commerzone located in Kharadi. All Pune based roles will eventually start to move to this new campus starting September 2019. In the run up to that, during the course of 2018, there may be transitory movements of some roles to other temporary sites.
