Job Description

  • You will support the following levels: Physical - you will be responsible for the physical and technical oriented aspects e.g. storage, security, networking and more; Application - you will handles all application-related issues (e.g. queries, users, embedded SQL s etc.)
  • You will ensure database resources are sized properly and a design strategy is developed to make sure that the database is maintained at a healthy size.
  • You will ensure availability and performance of multi database and application environments with very large volumes and sizes.
  • You will perform routine DBA tasks like database maintenance, backups, recovery, table space management, upgrades, etc.
  • You will execute periodic health checks for databases and recommend changes that should be executed in the production environment to ensure optimal performance.
  • You will interact and work with multiple infra and IT teams as part of environment setup, maintenance and support
  • You will work closely with developers, assist them with database structure design as of business needs (e.g. indexes, constraints, integrity)

  • Key Areas of Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day operations of the Mission critical Oracle Databases
  • Install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, oracle security patching and tune Oracle Database
  • Manage activities/processes related to database such as Health checkup, Backup and recovery, Cloning, patching, hardening
  • Database troubleshooting, tuning and performance optimization
  • Oracle database administrations like grant management, synonyms management, schema changes etc.
  • Design/ Redesign the physical architecture to meet clients requirement to provide optimum performance
  • Provide support to the execution of key project deliverables apart from Database related activities.
  • Participate in the planning, preparation and execution of, regular and other mission critical activities.
  • Establish and Maintain good terms with On-Shore Team and other stakeholder.
  • Knowledge of ITIL process to cater process like Incident management, problem management, change management and release management.
  • Identify and maintain Performance metric of databases, operation Lesson learned and RCA reporting and assist in development plan from them.
  • Motivated to keep learning new technologies.
  • Documenting all the production changes and standard operation

  • Knowledge and hands on for Couchbase DB
  • Knowledge and hands on Casandra DB
  • Knowledge and hands on Postgress/EDB
  • Knowledge and hands on of open source like Ensible, Jenkins, python etc.
