Job Description

This experienced developer will develop, configure and test configurations and software for loading source files into a 3rd normal form data model using a dedicated framework of AbInitio MDWP and integrate it into the overall BI system architecture.

  • Implement new and changed applications in development, test, preproduction and production environments
  • Ensure proper implementation in production environments by supporting deployment team
  • Ensure proper functionality of technical application interfaces
  • Receive Specifications from Business Intelligence Competence Centre (BICC)
  • Gather the correct requirements that are derived out of those specifications
  • Work closely with business and technical unit to ensure a common understanding of requirements
  • 2nd level support in BI environments
  • Part of the specificationswill be handed over via AbInitio Metadata Hub
  • Youhave to understand how a normalized Tel Co Data Model works to get a clear viewon specifications and requirements
  • Create the LowLevel Design for the specifications
  • Implement thesespecifications by using the configuration tools (AbInitio ACE, AbInitio MDWP, Shell) in place
  • You have to understand the different configuration options to be creative regarding special specifications
  • Besides configuration, custom development need to be donethat requires a deep knowledge of AbInitio development (AbInitio Co-Operating System, AbInitio GDE, Shell, Perl)
  • Work closely withproduct vendors in case defects in the products (AbInitio MDW, AbInitio MDWP) are detected
  • Perform a Unit Test on the implementations you have done
  • Perform a System Test on the implementation of other developers these again demand a deep understanding of the complete flow
  • Handle high complex environments where small changes will have big consequences - always keep the big picture in mind

  • Outstanding Experience in development on AbInitio
  • Deep understanding of defining test scope including data and environment criteria
  • Constant improvements of the configuration, development and unit testing process is necessary and demands proactive thinking
  • Relevant work experience (4-8) years

  • Telecom Domain Knowledge
Essential:
  • Graduate/Post graduate in preferably technical streams (Engineering)
  • Technical Qualification:
  • AbInitio (GDE, CoOperating System, ACE)
  • Teradata / SQL
  • Unix / Shell scripting

  • Solution of environment problems together with data and software provider
  • Deployment of new and changed applications on development, test, preproduction and production environments
  • Perform Integration Test on the implementations done
  • Basic functionality check of changed software in BI environments
