Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL.Your RoleThe Blue Planet software division is seeking a stellar DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to develop and support various production cloud hosted and on-premises environments. Blue Planet platform is based on a modern software architecture that leverages open-source technologies, model-driven templates and container-based micro-services. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing and supporting development and operations of cloud-based / on-premises network automation solutions.Your ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and maintain a Docker/Kubernetes cloud and on-prem infrastructure.Design, implement and maintain security best practices of a Docker/Kubernetes cloud and on-prem infrastructure.Lead security initiatives in design and implementation of cloud and on-premises environments.Design, implement and maintain a CI/CD pipelines for large scale software development and delivery in both cloud and on-premises environments using tools such as teamcity, gitlab and jenkinsDeploy and operate micro-services base systemsDeploy, impletment, and maintain AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, and Client side VPNConfigure authentication tools such as LDAP, Radius, AWS Cognito, etc.Write Terraform, helm, ansible, and cloudformation templates to support various deployments in on-prem and in the cloud.Run and automate security scans and generate reports on various artifacts such as source code and docker images.Maintain source control infrastructures such as bitbucket, github, and gitlab.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environmentsImplement security best practices for cloud infrastructureBe available for 24/7 support of cloud and on-premises infrastructureBe able to deploy, explain, and support an end-to-end cloud or on-prem solutions to stake holders.Be responsive on Sack / Teams to answer community queries.Be able to document and explain deployment and operations processes.Minimum QualificationsBS/MS degree in CS/EE or equivalent with 7 years in Software Development3 years Python coding experience.3 years in Bash scripting experience.3 years Unix Sysadmin experience.2 years dealing with AWS Direct Connect, AWS Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Client Side VPNHands on Experience in building, managing and supporting CI/CD pipelines (teamcity / Jenkins)3 years 24/7 support of cloud infrastructureBe able to deploy, monitor, explain cloud security best practices.Be able to troubleshoot Docker and Kubernetes deployment issues.Be able to troubleshoot Unix Sysadmin issues, such as, disk partition, login issues, network connective problems, ssh issues, DNS, firewall, tunnelling issues.2 years experiences with Ansible, helm, terraform, and cloudformation as part of an integrated automation deployment.Be familiar with Vagrant and virtualboxGood platform and OS knowledge (RHEL, CentOs, Ubuntu, Mac)Good AWS experiencesBe familiar with Azure and Google CloudBe able to perform root cause analysis on various cloud and on-prem deployments.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills*LI-CNAbout CienaCiena is a network strategy and technology company with a passion to provide an experience, to you and our customers that is as rewarding as the outcome.
