Our Hosted products business is the back-bone to our technology framework in assuring all our core products service the needs of our customers, daily without any interruptions.What you will be doingWe are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our established Cloud Platform team. This candidate is to be a technical leader, responsible for design, delivery, implementation and support of new initiatives. They must be able to adapt to the challenges of changing environments and infrastructures to meet our client deliverables and be an expert in overcoming the complex obstacles many Cloud Platforms face.This role will involve some elements of third line support to both our customers and in-house staff. The successful candidate will gain experience of a wide variety technologies whilst working to structured deployment processes at some of the world s leading data centre facilities, cloud providers and large blue-chip organisations. This is a technical position where applicants must show initiative and be able to problem-solve in an unsupervised environment.What you bring:

• Provides thought-leadership to fellow team members and the client across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
• This includes scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, UAT and production deployment.
• Using JIRA or other project management tools to deliver and document.
• Ensures delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional requirements.
• Building relationships with software vendors
• Provides technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation.
• Ability to identify problems and addressing them permanently.
• Ensures delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed. Works in conjunction with upper management to size, manage scope and risk.
• Master SME that acts as a resource to the organization; pro-actively responds to ad-hoc questions from all different IT units.
• Provides specialized knowledge within IT industry domain and frameworks.

Skills

• Extensive experience with some or all of the following, Git, Terraform, Chef, Packer, Chef, Ansible
• Extensive experience with one of the following scripting languages such as Powershell, PowerShell DSC, Python
• Extensive experience with Octopus Deploy or equivalents like GoCD/Buildmaster/SCCM
• Experience with Package Managers/Package Management technology i.e. Apt /Yum/Chocolately/OneGet/Nuget
• Experience with Jenkins and Jenkins pipelines
• Experience with automation to on-prem (VMware) and off-prem (AWS/Azure) environments

• Experience with Artifactory or equivalent package repositories i.e. Maven / ProGet

• Experience in multiple Operation Systems; Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, Fabric OS, VMware Linux Kernel
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

Competencies

• Excellent communication and follow-up skills, paying strong attention to detail.
• Professional and responsible attitude with the ability to work without supervision.
• Proven experience working within an ITIL v3 framework and with DevOps practices CI/CD.
