Job Description

The Sand Mold Design Engineer will be responsible for developing rigging and gating concepts, as well as set-up and simulation of these concepts. Mold designs created will take advantage of the design flexibility offered by 3D mold printing technology. This position will aid in initiating the research and development efforts necessary to correlation of casting simulation results to casting quality.Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • To prepare the 3D model of Gating, Risering and casting molds for the given casting model as per instructions/ sketches given
  • Perform Magmasoft solidification modelling: Pre-processing as well as Post processing
  • Prepare the results and animation plots
  • Prepare the final report
  • Prepare mold design and animations of mold assemblies for suppliers
Desired Educational Background and Experience
  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering or Foundry technology
  • Hands on experience in using Casting simulation software (Preferred Magma)
  • Minimum Two years of experience in Steel or Cast Iron foundry will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in 3D Modelling software, preferred SolidWorks, Creo or NX
  • Sand lab testing will be an added advantage
