Job DescriptionEngineer - Sand Mold DesignJob Function : EngineeringJob Posting Date : Mar 15, 2019, 10:47:23 AMPosition SummaryThe Sand Mold Design Engineer will be responsible for developing rigging and gating concepts, as well as set-up and simulation of these concepts. Mold designs created will take advantage of the design flexibility offered by 3D mold printing technology. This position will aid in initiating the research and development efforts necessary to correlation of casting simulation results to casting quality. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo prepare the 3D model of Gating, Risering and casting molds for the given casting model as per instructions/ sketches givenPerform Magmasoft solidification modelling: Pre-processing as well as Post processingPrepare the results and animation plotsPrepare the final reportPrepare mold design and animations of mold assemblies for suppliersDesired Educational Background and ExperienceMasters in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering or Foundry technologyHands on experience in using Casting simulation software (Preferred Magma) Minimum Two years of experience in Steel or Cast Iron foundry will be an added advantageProficiency in 3D Modelling software, preferred SolidWorks, Creo or NXSand lab testing will be an added advantageKnowledge, skills and abilitiesKnowledge and appreciation of manufacturing processes and controlsStrong documentation and process definition capabilitiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize and multi-taskIntermediate computer skillsGood communication skillsWilling to learn new technologiesJob competenciesAction orientedIntellectually curiousEthics and valuesIntegrity and trustIntellectual horse powerAbility to visualize spatial relationshipPerseverancePlanningPriority setting,
