Job Description

  • You will work with the internal Seagate team, customers, solution architects, and the Network Storage industry to develop a resilient, high performing storage platform. The position requires system development project management experience and ideally experience with Distributed Storage Systems.
  • The position will lead a local team of software developers and will facilitate effective collaboration with the global team of development professionals.
  • You will be responsible for managing development of Geographically distributed and complex High Availability software and will deal with issues including large scale data organization, algorithm scalability, asynchronous communication, efficient concurrency, reliability and fault tolerance. The manager will also be responsible for managing the development of a user API that interfaces to our storage system.
  • You will act as an effective coach of engineering talent, a creative problem-solver, and an exceptional communicator and collaborator.
About You
  • Knowledge of and Storage System Architectures and Storage Media Types
  • Knowledge of C programming language
  • Understanding of the UNIX Internals and experience working in UNIX environment.
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle and experience bringing commercial products to market.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Gerrit and Git
  • Established record of completing projects on-time and to specification
  • Excellent English language skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Advanced Agile Development (e.g. Safe Agile) Process is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical material with groups outside of engineering, including QA, Product Management, and any support functions
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks, manage conflicting deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment
Your Experience includes
  • Experience to develop software roadmaps, produce software development schedules and release plans to realize the product goals
  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams is required.
  • Moderate experience of development of NFS server. Experience with NFS Ganesha will be advantage.
  • Experience in the development of Distributed File System or Scale Out Storage Systems
  • Experience working with distributed teams over a range of geographies and time zones
  • Experience with industry software development processes and practices.
