Job Description

  • The VP role includes responsibility for designing, developing and maintaining scalable applications for Equities Middle Office group globally.
What will you be doing
  • Work within a globally distributed development team to deliver applications for our synthetics business using Java.
  • Development work is in Java - building server/client side components using design patterns and writing business logic and code to interact with client-side processes via pub/sub middleware.
  • The system has a high-throughput, high-volume requirement, so part of the development process will include running and analyzing performance and memory usage benchmarks
  • Critical parts of the code are covered by unit tests, and the role will include writing and maintaining relevant unit tests
  • Follow the agile development methodology using scrums/sprints etc for software development
  • Implement POC s for new features and work iteratively with users to see items through completion.
What we re looking for:
  • Bachelor s degree with strong development experience of over 12 years in building multithreaded applications.
  • Experience leading small teams using Agile
  • Excellent RDBMS and Messaging skills
  • Strong Java knowledge
  • Practical experience using source control systems including branching and merging
  • Clear oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive, self-starter
  • Needs to be a good team player working with a global team ( AMER, EMEA and APAC)
  • Prefer someone who is self-driven, motivated and enthusiastic about building back-office applications
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Prior experience in building cloud based and in memory applications
  • Domain experience (Prime/Synthetics)
