Job Description

ETL Developer - Pune

Role description:

Exxat is a software development company, building products changing the way allied healthcare education and services are managed. We operate out of our US and India offices. We are currently looking for Data Engineers focused on design and implementation of ETL processes, with an in - depth knowledge of database, data modelling, and different database technologies. The data engineer will help us build robust, stable and scalable data pipelines, and model data for decision support requirements. The data engineer will also be closely working with functional owners to understand key data requirements from a business standpoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement data pipelines spanning multiple databases and technologies
  • Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that s geared towards the needs of end users
  • Maintain and improve already existing processes
  • Ensure that the data architecture is scalable and maintainable
  • Work with the business in designing and delivering correct, high quality data
  • Investigate data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end - users and propose adequate solutions
  • Prepare documentation for further reference
  • Prepare data models in accordance with reporting layer requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • E./B.Tech. Or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience in data engineering, predominantly focused on ETL solutions.
  • Experience of working with multi - cultural and geographically disparate teams.
  • Experience of working with Agile Methodologies including TDD.
  • SQL knowledge (query performance tuning, index maintenance, etc.) as well as an understanding of database structure.
  • Knowledge of data modelling principles.
  • Organizational skills: time management and planning.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of various relational and non - relational data storage mechanisms, SQL/NoSQL and Big Data technologies.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving.
  • Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly.
  • Understanding of data models and reporting tools.
