• Stakeholder management & project management for multiple projects at a time
• Complete hands-on in ETL/ Data ware house testing using Hadoop, Informatica & Ab-Initio
• Drive project requirement analysis for Risk domain projects
• Review & preparation of Test ware - estimates, scenarios, cases, data
• Entire test cycle management Test execution tracking, Defect reporting and tracking
• Demonstrate implementation of process, strategy and/or testing improvement/efficiencies
What will you be doing
• Support estimation of Quality engineering tasks for the assigned project.
• Scope quality engineering engagements, including delivery effort, delivery timescales and external dependencies for test automation
• Detailed design for test engineering solutions and verification of this with test team stakeholders and BTS architecture and design authorities
• Test Planning and assisting developers in designing unit & integration tests
• Create Test ware - estimates, scenarios, cases, data & tests.
• Review & execute unit & integration tests.
• Execute Tests and collate evidence.
• Collaborate with Test Engineer in supporting exploratory testing
• Defect reporting and tracking.
• Mentor and support junior team members and/or lead a small team of associate SETs.
• Monitor team progress and Communicate with stakeholders on test engineering progress and maturity
• Sharing of re-usable components to test engineering colleagues and other test teams
• Deliver test automation improvement initiatives within the project group.
• Conform to established best practices and any appropriate test automation standards
• Understanding of Big Data deliveries
• 6-10 years of experience in software testing with at least 2 years in test delivery management
• Strong knowledge and hands on experience in Data concepts, ETL (Ab-Initio, Informatica), Data Warehousing, Hadoop, RDBMS with exposure to Unix, Mainframes, Oracle PL/SQL
• Good Understanding of automation frameworks, tools and techniques, UNIX/LINUX OS
What we re looking for:
• Requirement Analysis work with the Test Lead/Test Manager on driving project requirement analysis and static testing
• Create Test ware create test cases, test scenarios and test data that would be required to complete test execution for the project.
• Defects defect reporting and ensuring that defects have the right amount of detail, are in the correct statuses/severity, escalated appropriately and tracked to closure.
• Participate in test estimations for project
• Create query log/ mind map/ flow charts
• Escalate issues to TL/ TM as appropriate
• Contribute towards creating Test Plan/ Test Strategy/ Schedule with TM
• Participate in test planning with TM
• Monitor team progress on test plan. Monitor daily tasks and report on them
• Communicate with stakeholders on project status and metrics
• Assist TM in operational tasks of managing a team
• Experience in running a project through STLC with a team
• Identify project risks and work towards mitigating them.
• Escalate where appropriate to the LM or the PM
• Provide guidance to other team members on technology/domain/application queries
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Minimum of 6 years experience relevant work experience, including ETL, Data Warehousing testing deliveries with Ab Initio, Informatica, Hadoop tech stack. Experience with Oracle PL/ SQL will be great plus
• Expertise in data models, mappings, data behaviours in warehousing
• Strong technical background with detail driven and excellent problem solving abilities
• Good product and testing acumen
• Proven track record for agile, test-driven development, behaviour driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing
• Active contributor to open source tools towards Automation / Quality Engineering
• Good at art of questioning and critical thinking
• Aptitude to learn tools/apps/processes/domains
• Ability to articulate thoughts spoken/written with global teams
• Knowledge of testing terminologies, processes and tools
• Participate in tasks at org level like training/social activities to promote BTS/Barclays culture
• Should have excellent conflict management skills and generate trust and respect in team
