Job Description

This position is responsible to support Finance, Accounting and Controlling functions as part of SAP systems roll- out. The incumbent is expected to provide functional support with regards to accounting, finance and controlling functions by working with controllers/accountants. The ideal candidate for this position is detailed oriented and highly innovative in accounting, finance and controlling functions and should be able to work with the team to achieve the goals set by management.

Overall duty is to work closely with channel strategy (SAP roll out) groups and Varian EAS (Enterprise Application) team to understand the requirements, test SAP system solutions and bridge the gap between controllers and IT implementation specialists. The incumbent should be able to assist Channel Strategy Director, Site Manager and EAS Finance Manager to fulfill defined business goals set and cascaded by management team.

Define business requirements by working with finance and accounting controllers, analyze issues or requirements and contribute to cost effective solutions in the areas of finance and accounting by testing the solutions. Develop test scenarios, test plans other documentation. Validate SAP data conversions, system enhancements any development for financial and operational integrity.

Should work to improve finance and accounting process as part of SAP implementation. Prepare and conduct training for business users and others in SAP functions.

Overall duty is to work as part of a team implementing supporting SAP based solutions into Varian s sites in Europe, Asia and North America

  • Professional degree in Chartered Accountant and/or Cost Accountant is mandatory.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of hands on experience in Finance Accounting domain. Preference will be given to those who worked in consulting roles
  • Strong domain skills and exposure to Finance and Accounting Domain.
  • Should have used SAP FICO as system of record to close their finance books.
  • Implementation experience in SAP FICO is strongly preferred.
  • Should be able to understand controllers requirements and explain to IT team;
  • Should be able to prepare T- accounts for the entire implementation.
  • Should be able to write test scripts and SOPs w.r.t finance and accounting functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Hands- on experience in closing finance and accounting books. Exposure to SAP ECC 6.0 OR SAP S/4 HANA with focus on SAP FICO modules. Should be able to understand the integration points with FI and Logistics modules especially from accounting posting point of view
  • Flexible dynamic team player with ability to work independently with business users and manage multiple assignments. Interact with project/delivery teams on regular basis to provide guidance to deliver channel and acquisition projects in timely manner.
  • Strong leadership skills and communication skills in a global environment and drive necessary changes for accounting and finance process improvements
