Job Description

    Roles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing departmental policies and procedures by which the highest possible degree of cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic values is achieved. Knowledge of public area, chemical, carpet cleaning, shampooing etc from hotel/retail is must. Ensure smooth housekeeping operations. Ensured cleaning and preventive maintenance.Profile Responsibilities :
    • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the mall. Be aware of staff needs to maintain high standards of housekeeping in the mall and its periphery areas. Maintain a high level of productivity in all areas.
    • Manage the day-to-day and long term operations of Housekeeping in the entire mall. He should have in-depth and hands on knowledge in HK & Janitorial services, Faade Cleaning, Pest Control, Horticulture Management, & Waste Management.
    • The Soft Services is required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the malls policies and procedures, ensuring that a high level of standards are maintained
    • Exhibit and encourage high performance standards for herself / himself and others
    • Responsible for the entire upkeep of the property.
    • Develop systems & procedures to achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction
    • Execute control measures, make annual budgets & source suppliers
    • Well groomed and physically fit
    • Able to develop and maintain excellent credibility with coworkers and subordinates.
    • Demonstrate complete consistency between words and actions, in all aspects of behavior.
    • Effectively identify & anticipate housekeeping needs
    • Handle challenging situations and perform under pressure
    • Positively influence coworkers to accept & execute changes immediately and effectively.
    • Regularly keep the CE up-dated on relevant activities
    • Maintain an organized system to ensure that processes are getting completed on time
    • Responsible for the upkeep and horticulture and water features
    • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the departments
    • Manage operating expenses to minimize costs while providing high levels of housekeeping standards
    • Responsible for the daily maintenance of the mall, inventory status of supplies and consumables
    • Report on a regular basis to the CE on the performance of the Housekeeping against budgets. Analyze variances and monitor the impact of initiatives and corrective actions
    • Have control over the elements that determine profit and loss
    • Responsible for all HK operating expenses and has the capability to manage costs in line with the projected budget
    • Responsible for the financial management of the operation
    • Ensure all Housekeeping quality standards are complied with and that policies and procedures are consistently applied
    • Coordinate activities with other departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and satisfaction
    • Recommend changes to the product and its services. Use market research to develop new products and services.
    Staff/Service Agency:
    • Responsible for the hiring, training, and direction of new department associates
    • Ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals
    • Give direction and be responsible for the implementation of plans
    • Monitor plans effectiveness and recommend changes in response to the marketplace, including setting targets, planning and scheduling work and performance indicators that are typical productivity and efficiency measures. Operate the department within mall policies as they relate to the ethical codes, standards of good business practice and local laws and regulations
    Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct inspections of all areas of the mall and provide feedback to room attendants
    • Conduct regular inspections of the mall to ensure adherence to cleanliness
    • Report on a regular basis to the CE on the performance of the Housekeeping against operations and human resources performance. Analyze variances and monitor the impact of initiatives and corrective actions
    • Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring the consumption and order replacement of cleaning supplies
    • Additional duties as necessary and assigned by the mall management
    Training and Development:
    • Manage the training and development of associates with an eye toward maximum associates satisfaction & productivity
    • Responsible for the selection, training and development of the associates within the BU
    • Be well versed and knowledgeable of Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the Workplace. Ensure Associates are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity
    • Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related to mall policies
