Job Description Firmware Engineer - Verifcation & Validation Requisition ID:(19011131) Primary Location:India-Maharashtra-Pune Job Function:Engineering Job Posting Date:Aug 21, 2019, 5:07:34 PM Job Role: Perform Firmware Testing Activities like Test Setup, Test Development, Execution & Test artifacts generation and contribute to smooth execution of all test Projects of Ultrasonic Flow Meter products (includes Firmware and HART DDs). Work with Firmware Development team during development and testing. Participate in Peer Reviews and support product development and organization initiatives. Organize and execute test activities by using formal test methodology and effective Test Automation, in addition to reviewing the activities of other test team members to test Ultrasonic Flow Meter products (includes Application, Firmware and HART DDs). Representative Duties: Review requirements (Firmware and Application) to ensure they are complete and testable Able to translate Req in Test cases with review support(UI) Design Test cases using Test Design techniques Perform activities for manual and automation testing On Time delivery of testing task assigned - Test Execution, Test case Designing Responsible for maintaining the testing activity in Test Tool Test Setup readiness, preparation and trouble shooting Detailed Defect reporting & Tracking Setup readiness for assigned Test activity Hands on Participation in test planning activities like create test plan, test schedule, test objectives to ensure product quality and quality of tests. Identify and track risks in the project test life cycle Required to maintain high degree of Test Quality, source control, bug tracking, change requests and improvement logs Develop Thorough Product understanding and troubleshooting techniques Contribute to developing guidelines and best practices to ensure an effective test development process and well tested products Assist in training and developing team members in software, testing best practices. Work well in a structured but agile environment conforming to CMM standardsExperience and Education: Bachelors or Masters in Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering (similar or higher) 4 to 6+years in software & Firmware engineering with focus on testing, problem solving and validation of embedded firmware products ISTQB Foundation level (or equivalent) certification is desired Good working experience in test process, test environment setup, test planning and execution along with test status reporting.Technical skills: Proficient in working with embedded software and analysis equipment (i.e. different Software protocol analyzers, test boxes, oscilloscopes, Multi meter, Signal generator) Hands- on experience in Embedded Product Testing with strong debugging techniques Able to translate Req in Test cases and good working knowledge of Test Setup preparation and troubleshooting Knowledge of industrial protocols like HART, Modbus, HTTP, Foundation Fieldbus Knowledgeable in test automation tools, preferable is TestComplete At least 3 years hands on experience scripting language like Jscript (preferred), Java Script, VB Script and/or C language in career Good knowledge of Peer testing and Product level testing Good to have Experience of testing desktop-based applications Proficient with Configuration management and version control processes Good understanding of Agile & Traditional software development life-cycle and familiarity with CMM model.Other required skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills A Lateral Thinker with a zeal to Learn & adapt to situations Excellent English communication & presentation skills Foster and maintain positive relationships with local and global test team members.
