Scripting experience: Unix / Java / Shell Responsibilities: Contribute to overall architecture and infrastructure , especially as it relates to availability , scalability , security , performance , etc. Manages application availability , performance , and pro - actively find & resolve potential problems Accelerate study current implementations , find gaps and recommend improvement Work with architecture , business and delivery teams to determine strategic direction for J2EE platform Works with other teams to integrate applications full infrastructure stack to get an end - to - end visibility Develops processes to monitor and alert for critical business transactions and applications to catch an issue before the impact and provide better information to the development team about the defects Configure and Install patches / Bug Fixes and perform updates , work with functional teams to establish best practices to mitigate the risk. Provide technical support to IS functional team by troubleshooting the system hardware , software , network and operating system. Work with the appropriate teams to resolve issues. Escalates issues to vendor when necessary. Maintain system performance and availability by performing system monitoring and analysis , and performance tuning. Contribute ideas for continually improving application productivity. Ensures that system improvements to increase efficiency Secure system by developing system access , monitoring , control , and evaluation; tests disaster recovery procedures; maintains technical documentation. Protect organization by keeping information confidential. Working with SQL Server databases Perform system refreshes on a monthly or as needed basis Work on the weekend on Production patching as needed Perform RCA for Production issues as required Keeps management , other team members and other departmental employees aware of status changes as necessary. Uses good judgment to determine when such communication is necessary. Considers the need for other team members to support their areas of responsibility and openly shares an understanding of these areas. Ensures his / her areas of expertise are covered when absent. Maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Consistently able to interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees.
