Job Description

A technical IT infrastructure Analyst providing project, monitoring & EDI infrastructure delivery and/or live systems support into the Barclays BHS- EDI Informatica, Ab Initio environments. The role provides exposure to leading edge software technology and underlying platforms operating mission critical services to the group.What will you be doing The planning & implementation of all changes to the components of a live infrastructure, from request for change or project initiation through to deployment and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and risk compliance of the infrastructure.To drive & pro-actively maintain or enhance computer systems/ infrastructure components and services, maximizing use of available resources to ensure that business objectives are met and deliverables achieved to agreed timescale, budget and quality.To take responsibility for completing tasks, focusing on requirements and planning to meet client needs, which the job holder helps to identify, advise and recommend technical solutions based on experience and industry knowledge.React quickly and as necessary to live systems errors and service problems to minimize downtime and restore service. Key focus will be required upon identification of root cause and implementation of permanent fix.

  • Professional knowledge related to incumbents position, team, and department. Requires ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop skills.
  • Draw upon professional concepts to collaborate with others to carry out assigned duties. Negotiation is required.
  • Recognize job-related problem, analyze root causes using existing techniques or tools, prepare and recommend solution alternatives.
  • Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve.
  • Works on professional projects; work is often reviewed for developmental purposes. Understand the standard mission of the professional group and vision in own area of competence. May directly influence people in own project. Position may require coordination of activities of less experienced or less knowledgeable team members.

  • Service Health Checks and Monitoring
  • Incident, Change Requests and Problem Record Management
  • Requests: User On-boarding, Role and Access Management
  • Backup and Maintenance
  • Continuous Service Improvements
  • Certificate Management
BTB activities:
  • Project On-boarding
  • Upgrades and Migrations
  • Dev-Ops and Automations for Service Management and Efficiency
  • Decommissioning of Legacy estates
Risk, Control and Audit activities:
  • BICEP related remediation tasks
  • Patching (coordination, communication and post patching health checks and issue resolution)
  • BCM (DCR and PATS test)
