If you would like some flexibility then please discuss this with the hiring manager.This position is for a senior analyst to work on the operational delivery and support of strategic workload automation solutions in use across the Barclays group. Support bank s core workload automation applications, which provide scheduling functionalities across all business towers, application areas and platform technologies. What will you be doing This position is for a senior analyst to work on the operational delivery and support of strategic Monitoring application solutions in use across the Barclays group.
    • Responsible for management and availability of the Enterprise Monitoring applications like Netcool, Nimbus (UIM), xMatters, Tanium etc.
    • Handling Major Incidents as per the MI management process
    • Coordinate with Projects, Users, IT run and Engineering to deliver on new requirements.
    • Ensure fault resolution and escalations are handled in a timely manner using Change and Problem management processes.
    • Support the implementation of core infrastructure changes
    • Ensure documented procedures followed and new provisioned for new issues or processes
    • Estate Management ensure all tools maintained to the latest level to mitigate risk and ensure vendor support where possible
    • Support global DR tests
    • Raising of and management of Vendor supported issues
    • Cross Training of processes/procedures/tools
    • Contribute to the toolsets continuous improvement lifecycle
    • Technical lead/deputize for manager
    • Stakeholder management with active communication skill
    • Responsible for the design, implementation, security and availability of Tools and custom solution infrastructure, based on business requirements while adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models
    • Responsible for complex Integrations, advanced maintenance, High availability, disaster recovery, use case development, customer support, training and documentation for our Tools environments
    • Demonstrate a technical acumen to support complex Tooling Solutions, under minimal supervision
    • Operate in complex, highly-secure, highly-available, operations-centric datacenter environments and interact with other technology domain experts as required, to build and maintain the System Management solutions in those datacenter environments
    • Function as the Event Management Resource on key infrastructure projects and initiatives
    • Ability to create technical design and build documentation for tooling infrastructure
    • Work with other Engineering disciplines to develop Reference Architectures and technology standards based on Infrastructure Building Blocks that can be offered as services to our internal customers
    • Participate in on-call support rotation
    • Hands-on experience with IBM IPL and Good in writing policies of Impact in Java
    • Hands-on experience with NOI features like IBM Event Analytics
    • Strong knowledge of OS fundamentals for UNIX, Linux or Microsoft platforms
    • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and products from VMware, Citrix or Microsoft
    • Knowledge of Service Now.
    • Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are essential in this role.
    What we re looking for:
    • Good hands-on skill in Netcool, Nimbus, Tanium tool administrative activities
      • Strong knowledge and experience in Windows and UNIX/LINUX platforms.
      • Scripting and programming languages (any of Perl, Shell, PowerShell)
      • Experience with SQL queries.
    Skills that will help you in the role:
    • Experience in the management/operational support of network monitoring applications like Spectrum,APM.
    • Experience in Chef automation is preferred
    • Exposure to governance, control and risk management policies. Understanding of ITIL Event/Incident processes
