Job Description

*Designation: Junior Technician Department: HaematologyReporting to: Head of the Department Qualification: DMLT Experience: FresherJob Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving the samples check the labels on the test tubes whether the name of the patient, order number and the tests to be done are mentioned.
  • Accesses the lab computer, acknowledges the samples and prints out the requisitions for IP samples.
  • Notes down the time of receiving the samples in the lab.
  • Responsible for performing processing and analyzing all routine tests.
  • Responsible for the online generation of reports, then cross check, validate, sign and dispatch routine reports within 12 hours and abnormal reports after reviewed by Pathologist .
  • Stat test samples for e.g malaria, prothrombin time, APTT, Hgb, PCV, EDP, D.Dimer & CSF for cell counts to be processed immediately & the results to be informed to Sister Incharge / within half an hour to one hour after receiving the samples. Show abnormal slides to the Pathologist.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance in the department like running calibration, internal quality control, repeats testing of abnormal samples, cross check by manual reference records etc.
  • After cross checking the reports, gets the report signed by the HOD and send it for report dispatch.
