Country Risk Analyst (Level I/J)The country risk analyst is a member of the BNY Mellon Country Risk team responsible for assisting in the review, assessment and monitoring of country risk and country exposure limits in both emerging and developed market countries. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining and updating country risk related data and research materials to support monitoring. S/he will function as the first-level analyst to interpret trends and data, providing written evaluations as necessary. The analyst will support the development, enhancement and monitoring of existing tools and processes used in assessing country risk and disseminate relevant country risk information to appropriate stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for updating country risk scoring tool and country risk assessment reports with updated information to support the risk evaluation of countries.Specific Responsibilities:Maintain analytical tools and information for assessing country riskAnalyze trends and outliers in assessing country risk and disseminate relevant country risk information to appropriate stakeholdersHelp modify existing analytical country risk tools and assessment methodologies as neededUpdate country risk scoring tool and country risk assessment reports with new information for review and approvalQualificationsQualifications:Requires at a minimum a Bachelor s degree with coursework in international economics and macroeconomics; Masters degree preferred with 3 to 5 years of work experience in country or sovereign risk analysis at a major rating agency or financial institution. Advanced Excel skills and facility with Microsoft suite of products is critical. Must be able to work independently and problem solve.
