Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL..What will you do at Ciena The Blue Planet software division is seeking a stellar lead Dev/CloudOpsEngineer to develop and support various production cloud hosted and on-premises environments. Blue Planet platform is based on a modern software architecture that leverages open-source technologies, model-driven templates and container-based micro-services. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing and supporting development and operations of cloud-based / on-premises network automation solutions.Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain cloud networking strategies, deploy and maintain AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN,Transit Gateway,andClient side VPN
  • Monitoring usage of cloud network and ensure the cloud network is responsive to user demands
  • Implementing effective security strategies on cloud networks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines
  • Be available for 24/7 support of cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Automate configurations and operation procedures
  • Be able to document and explain deployment and operations processes, mentor and train others.
Experience
  • BS/MS degree in CS/EE or equivalent with 5 years inCloudOps / networking
  • 3 years in Bash scripting and Unix Sysadmin experience.
  • 4 years dealing with AWS Direct Connect, AWS Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Client Side VPN
  • 3 years 24/7 support of cloud infrastructure
  • Be able to troubleshoot Unix Sysadmin issues, such as, disk partition, login issues, network connective problems,ssh issues, DNS, firewall, tunneling issues, and routing issues
  • Good platform and OS knowledge (RHEL,CentOs, Ubuntu, Mac)
  • Good AWS knowledge, experience with Azure, and Oracle Cloud is a plus
  • Be able to perform root cause analysis on various cloud and on-prem deployments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
